Lady Hawks draw No. 1-seeded Oklahoma City in first round
Kansas City, Mo. - To be the best, you have to beat the best, and the Shorter College women's basketball team will have the opportunity to do just that when it takes the floor for the first time in the 2010 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship next week. The Lady Hawks, who are making their second-ever trip to the national championships and first since 2001-02, will tangle with No. 6-ranked and top-seed Oklahoma City University on Wednesday, March 17 at 1:45 p.m. CST at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tenn., in the first round of the 32-team national tournament. Kansas City, Mo. - The Shorter College Lady Hawks will be partaking in bonus basketball this season. Late Tuesday night, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 32-team tournament field for the 2010 Division I Women's Basketball National Championship held March 17-23 at Oman Arena in Jackson, Tenn. - the Lady Hawks made the cut. Baseball splits with Reinhardt on the road
