Marietta, Ga. -- At the annual Southern States Athletic Conference meeting held at Southern Polytechnic State University last week, head Shorter College athletic trainer Adam Joseph has been named the SSAC Athletic Trainer of the Year. Joseph has worked with Shorter College, through Floyd Medical Center, since September 2004.

"We are really pleased with the hard work that Adam has done on behalf of all athletics," said Shorter College Athletic Director Bill Peterson. "It is great that all his hard work has been recognized by our conference. Through Adam's efforts, Shorter has truly become a first class training program, and in turn has had a positive impact on the overall athletic program at Shorter. We congratulate him on this truly deserved honor."

Joseph attended Minnesota State University at Mankato from 1998-2002 and graduated with a Bachelor of Athletic Training (BATR). He then went on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2002-2004 and graduated with a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance. He came on to Shorter's staff in September of 2004 as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), as part of the Floyd Medical Center group.

Joseph is responsible for all seventeen sports at Shorter College. In response to receiving this award, Adam expressed that he is "very proud, but couldn't have done it without all of [his] colleagues at Shorter."
