Broome, Thomas named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
Towson, Md. - In the CoSIDA ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Baseball and Softball teams announced today, Shorter College baseball outfielder Jake Broome has been named to the District 3 College Division First Team, while softball pitcher Becca Thomas has been named to the District 3 College Division Second Team. Rome, Ga. - Success doesn't necessarily have to be measured by wins and losses - one look at the kind of season the Shorter baseball team had bears testimony to that. Indeed, there were more downs than ups for the Hawks, who after getting off to a positive start fell victim to a pair of losing skids that took the squad off its track and resulted in a disappointing 18-31 campaign. Langley named All-Conference Second Team; seven named All-Academic
Atlanta, Ga. - In the end-of-year baseball awards for the Southern States Athletic Conference, Shorter College Hawk Pat Langley was named to the All-Conference Second Team, while Jake Broome was named the school's Champion of Character.
