Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College Hawks baseball team will be hosting its second annual "Meet the Team" dinner to introduce to its fans to the 2009 team on Sat., Jan. 31, 2009. The event will feature legendary Shorter College Baseball Coach Hamp Alexander from the 1973-1987 seasons as the distinguished guest, as well as, Atlanta Braves pitcher Blaine Boyer as the special keynote speaker.

The event will be held at the Shorter College Winthrop-King Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the event include a steak dinner and a 2009 media guide. There will be a silent auction with numerous items of baseball memorabilia and items from local merchants on hand beginning at 6:45 p.m.
