NAIA names four baseball players as Scholar-Athletes

Rome, Ga. - Cliff Flagello, Wes Ellis, Jarrod Lewis, and Ryan Murphy have all been named 2007 Baseball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. To qualify for the honor, the athlete must be a junior or senior with a 3.5 GPA or above.

Flagello, a senior from Armuchee, Ga., was instrumental for the Hawks this season, being named to the All-Conference team after going 8-4 during the regular season. He ended the season with 97 strikeouts and an opponent's batting average of .205. Ellis, a senior from Powder Springs, Ga., pitched Shorter to four more wins over the season and struck out 39, with only 16 walks.

Lewis and Murphy, both in their third season with the Hawks, combined for 40 runs this year with 39 RBI.
