Marietta, Ga. - The Shorter College men's basketball team edged out the Southern Polytechnic State University Hornets, 78-73, on Saturday afternoon to snap a two-game skid.

While ahead 43-36 at the half, Shorter bested the Hornets at the line, going 23-for-30, to hold on to the lead.

"After Thursday's game," Warner said of the Hawks' loss to Brewton-Parker, "we talked about us just getting back to who we are and we did."

Fred Christopher scored 13 for Shorter while both A.J. Martin and Darius Williams had 10.

The Hawks will return home on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. with a non-conference game against Oakwood College.
