Men's basketball stumbles at No. 2 Lee, 86-74



Led by Pranciliauskas' 24 points

Cleveland, Tenn. - The Shorter College Hawks basketball team played tough against No. 2 Lee University on Saturday night, losing 86-74.

Two Shorter players scored in double digits. Tomas Pranciliauskas poured in 24 points and helped keep the Hawks close most of the way. A.J. Martin added 11 points and Kedric Wilson and Fred Christopher tallied eight markers apiece.

Lee's numbers were solid across the board. They shot 50 percent from the field, 42 percent from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Shorter's numbers were also solid. The Hawks shot 41 percent from the field, 56 percent from behind the arc, but they converted just 10-of-17 free throws.

The Hawks will travel to Lee University again on Wednesday evening to play cross-town rival Berry College in the first round of the SSAC Tournament at 5:30 p.m. Second round play will be held on Friday following a Shorter win.
