Rome, Ga. - In the sixth men's basketball poll released by the NAIA on Wednesday afternoon, the Shorter College Hawks (14-5, 6-3) received 77 votes to move up to number 23 in the country. This is the first time this season the Hawks have entered the poll. This past week, Shorter went 2-0, defeating cross-town rival Berry College and Brewton-Parker College, to stand at third place in the tough Southern States Athletic Conference. Tomas Pranciliauskas led the way for the Hawks averaging 23 points a game and going a near-perfect 11-for-12 on free throws. The Hawks continue action tomorrow night against Faulkner University at 8 p.m. at Shorter's Winthrop-King Centre. The game will be broadcast live at exterranet.com. |
