Rome, Ga. - Following the end of their comeback season, the honors keep coming in for the Shorter College Hawks basketball team as Tomas Pranciliauskas has been named to the NAIA All-American Third Team. This is the third All-American the Hawks have seen in the past ten seasons. Pranciliauskas, a junior transfer from Pepperdine University, made outstanding contributions to the Hawks (19-12, 9-9) this season, leading the team in points scored (488), free throws (112) and three-pointers (76). He finished the season at No. 1 in the nation in free throw percentage going 112-for-118, at 94.9%. This also sets a season record for the Hawks that has been held since the 1959-60 season, by Melvyn Ottinger, who went 64-for-71 (90.1%). On Jan. 24 against cross-town rival Berry, Pranciliauskas landed a season-high 30 points. Additionally, Pranciliauskas was honored at the end of the regular season by being named to the All-Conference team. |
