Rome, Ga. - In the final poll released today by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA), Shorter College was one of four teams, not among the top 25, receiving votes. This places Shorter College at a final ranking of 28th, after just their third season, in which they went 7-4. "We're excited for the recognition for the efforts of our players, coaches, and staff," said head coach Phil Jones. "We struggled a little bit right after mid-season and to watch our team bounce back is a tribute to the Hawks and our character. We hope we can improve upon that next season." The Shorter College Hawks will kick off their fourth season on August 28 in Cullowhee, N.C where they will take on the Catamounts of Western Carolina. |
