Rome, Ga. - This Sat., Nov. 8, the Shorter College Hawks football team will celebrate their final regular season home game with "NAIA Jam the Joint" day.

This special event is an opportunity for the citizens of Rome and Floyd County to experience an NAIA football game. Shorter College will take on Mid-South Conference Western Division opponent Belhaven College at Historic Barron Stadium, with kickoff at 1:30 PM. This game has playoff implications for the young Shorter Hawks team, making the atmosphere charged with excitement. The football senior class will also be recognized for the contributions they have made to the program from its inception.

In recognition of our commitment to hosting the upcoming NAIA Championship game, Shorter will offer a special ticket price for those wishing to see this weekend's game. Tickets on the visitors' side will be available for $1.00 per person for this special "Jam the Joint" celebration. Members of the NAIA Host Committee will be on hand for early ticket sales to the NAIA Championship Game and will be the first occasion for people to by `in-hand' tickets. Reserved Seat tickets are $25.00 and General Admission tickets are $20.00.

"With the Championship Game a little over a month away we wanted the community to have a chance to get tickets in person, as well as celebrate a great Shorter Football season," said Shorter College athletic director Bill Peterson. "This is another opportunity we have to put Rome in the national spotlight."
