Lantz' second day leads men's golf to 7th place at NAIA Classic

Marion, Ind. - After a second day total of 301, the Shorter College men's golf team took 7th place in the NAIA Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, at the Brickyard Golf Course. Alex Lantz shot the a 72 on the second day to finish second for the Hawks at 152.

Placing one stroke above Lantz was Joaquin Correnti, who shot a two-day 151 to tie for 9th overall. Elrick Van Eck (tied for 19th with 153), Ricky Atkinson (tied for 53rd with 163), and Jared Barwick (tied for 66th with 166) rounded things out for Shorter.

The Hawks' second day was the second best out of all teams in the tournament, behind No. 7 Lindenwood who finished second. No. 6 Berry College won the tournament with a 606, 11 strokes ahead of Shorter's 617.

Shorter will travel to the Region XIII tournament on April 20-22 in Fort Gaines, Ga.
