Fort Gaines, Ga. - In the Region XIII/Southern States Athletic Conference men's golf tournament, hosted by the University of Mobile, the Shorter College Hawks took third place, shooting a three-day total of 885. Alex Lantz led the team, shooting a three-day total of 217 (+1) and tied for fourth overall.

Elrick Van Eck and Joaquin Correnti took the third and fourth spots, shooting 218 and 224 respectively. Arvid Bengtsson and Ricky Atkinson rounded things out for Shorter (shooting 226 and 239).

Lee University took first in the tournament with an 868 and Berry College was a close second at 869.

Shorter will now await an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament, held May 13-16 in Plymouth, Ind.
