![]() Men's golf places third in Indian Bayou Classic Destin, Fla. - Shorter College's Arvid Bengtsson shot a four-under, 140 to finish third overall and lead the Hawks to a third place finish in the Indian Bayou Classic in Destin, Fla. Bengtsson, a junior from Enhoping, Sweden, followed up an opening round 68 with an even par 72 in the final round to finish one stroke out of second place behind Columbus State's Stephen Swanepoel. The Hawks' two-day team total of 595 put them in a tie for third with tournament favorite Columbus State, who finished third in the NCAA Division II National Championship last season. Bengtsson stands two strokes ahead of nine players who are tied for second after shooting 71s on the par-71, 6,625-yard course. As a team, the Hawks are currently in 12th-place out of 17 teams in an event that features some of the top squads in the country. Bengtson took advantage of the wet conditions to rally for the win, posting a two-day total of 137 (72-65) to finish one stroke ahead of Reinhardt College's Chris Cartwright.
