Men's golf receives votes in NAIA fall poll

Kansas City, Mo. - In the 2007 men's golf rating released today, the Shorter College Hawks received votes to place 29th in the nation. The men's golf team finished their season on October 23, at the Lincoln Memorial Invitational placing 2nd of 12. Shorter's Alex Lantz shot a final round of 68 to add to his first day round of 67 to finish with a final 135, nine strokes under, and earned the title of Tournament Medalist.

Oklahoma City women's golf team is a unanimous choice for the top spot in the 2007 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Golf Fall Rating. The Stars earned all 13 first place votes and 498 total points.

British Columbia earned the second spot with 303 total points while Berry (Ga.) received 283 total points to occupy No. 3. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) rounded out the top five at No. 4 and No. 5 with 273 and 271 total points respectively.

The first spring rating will be released on February 29, 2008.
