Rome, Ga. - The University of Montevallo men's soccer team earned their eighth consecutive victory, a 2-0 decision over Shorter College, in a non-conference match in Rome, Ga. on Friday.

Jonathan Maloney recorded his eighth game-winning goal and 19th goal of the season in the 30th minute with an assist from Otavio Tramontina. The score held until the the 88th minute when Griff Gowers collected his fourth goal of the season with an assist from Milan Pualic.

Montevallo's Melford James Jr. went the distance in net, collected three saves and earned his seventh shutout victory of the season and 13th career shutout.

Shorter's Thomas Fulton had seven saves as goalkeeper.
