Cumberlands, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (7-6-1; 3-1) scored a late goal in the 84th minute to slip past the Shorter College Hawks (4-10; 4-5) on Thursday afternoon.

Cumberlands got on the board first in the 4th minute on a Luis Souza goal.

They kept their lead until the 32nd minute when Shorter's Robert Whitnell scored off a Kyle Timberlake assist. Shorter took the lead in the 65th minute on a Dallas Dickerson goal (Anthony O'Garro assist).

Two goals towards the end of the second half allowed Cumberlands the win. In the 78th minute, Kordon Dagley shot one in on a Bosko Cupac asssist and Gino Richard Ray shot in the winning goal.

Shorter will play their last home game of the season on Sat. at 2 p.m. against USC-Aiken, and will await the result of the Reinhardt-Southern Wesleyan game (also on Sat.) to see their fate in the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament.
