Atlanta, Ga. - In the weekly Southern States Athletic Conference soccer awards, Shorter's name is getting plenty of use, as the Hawks' Robert Whitnell was named Offensive Player of the Week for the third straight week. Last week, he was additionally named NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.

Whitnell, a senior forward from Brentwood, England, scored two of Shorter's (5-1, 4-0) four goals in the Hawks' win over conference foe Emmanuel College last week and tacked on one assist. His seven goals and six assists this year lead all Shorter players.

"It's an honor to be recognized three times in a row", said Whitnell. "Coach Severns is doing a lot for the team this year helping everyone to contribute and it has inspired the type of soccer we've been playing. We hope to keep it going into the game this week."

Shorter plays conference foe 19th-ranked Lee University (2-3-1, 1-1) on Wednesday at Darlington School, beginning at 5 p.m.
