Atlanta, Ga. - Shorter College senior midfielder Ryan Timberlake has been tabbed Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Hawks to a 2-0 week. Both wins came against SSAC competition and Timberlake was instrumental in each, tallying one goal and one assist in a 3-0 win over Brewton-Parker College and then another goal and assist as Shorter topped Southern Wesleyan University, 4-0. Timberlake has been on a tear as of late with three goals and three assists in the Hawks' last four matches. He now ranks third on the team in goals (5) and is tied with three teammates for the team lead in assists (4). Shorter itself is 5-1-1 in its last seven matches and is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Soccer Top-25 Poll. The Hawks are 4-1 in the league and 8-4-1 overall and will hit the road for two crucial SSAC matches in the next six days - Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Lee University (7 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 18 at current conference leader and 15th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery (4 p.m.). |
