Directions to Shorter's Winthrop-King Centre (tennis courts are located behind):

From Atlanta:

1. 75 North, exit 290: Rome.

2. Turn left until highway dead ends.

3. Turn left, then immediate right on 41 North.

4. Continue approximately 3 miles, take right fork on 411 South: Rome.

5. 19 miles to Rome. At Rome exit (approximately 19 miles from the I-75 exit) follow Hwy 20 West (also known as Turner-McCall Blvd and Shorter Avenue.)

6. Continue straight on Hwy 20 West for approximately 5 miles. Shorter College is located approx. one mile past Floyd Medical Center, on the left.

7. From entrance to Shorter, continue straight until you see Eubanks Welcome Center. Take left up the hill and continue until you see the building below you (is either straight or to your left coming up the hill). There are tennis courts behind it and three levels of parking in front.

From Chattanooga:

1. 75 South, exit 290: Rome.

2. Turn right until highway dead ends.

3. Turn left, then immediate right on 41 North.

Directions to Berry College's Richards Tennis Courts

From Atlanta:

  • Approx. 1 hr., 20 min.
  • 72 mi. Take I-75 N to Rome-Canton Exit 290.
  • Take left off exit, drive 2.5 mi., then road ends at a light.
  • Turn left, then take an immediate right onto Highway 41 North.
  • Drive 2.8 mi., then turn right onto Highway 411 exit.
  • Drive 17.3 mi., then turn right at light onto East Rome Bypass (Rome Loop 1).
  • Drive 8.4 mi., then take right at light (see The Martha Berry Museum) onto Martha Berry Highway (U.S. Highway 27 North)
  • Drive 0.7 mi., then turn left into Berry College main entrance

From Birmingham, Alabama:

  • Approx. 2 hrs., 15 min.
  • 128 mi.Take I-59 North to I-759 at Gadsden
  • Take I-759 to 411 N Take 411 North from Gadsden to Centre
  • At Centre, take Alabama 9 to Georgia At the Georgia state line
  • Alabama 9 will turn into Georgia State 20
  • Take Georgia State 20 to Rome At Floyd Medical Center in Rome, turn left onto Highway 27 (Martha Berry Highway)
  • Drive on U.S. Highway 27 until you reach the main entrance to Berry College (on left)

From Chattanooga, Tennessee:

  • Approx. 1 hr., 30 min.
  • 75 mi. Take I-75 South to Exit 312, Highway 53
  • Take Highway 53 West through Calhoun to Rome (approximately 25 mi.)
  • Turn right onto Rome Loop 1 at the light (see Calvary Baptist Church)
  • Turn right at the 3rd light (see The Martha Berry Museum) onto Martha Berry Hwy (U.S. Highway 27 North)
  • Drive 0.7 mi., then turn left into Berry College main entrance
To Richards Tennis Courts:

Once on the Berry College campus, take the fourth (final) right off the traffic circle and follow that street through the main campus.  Go right at the fork in the road, then take the first right after that.  Richards Gym will be on your left, with parking next to the gym and the tennis courts, which are located next to the Gym, as well.
