Kansas City, Mo. - In the preseason polls released by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Shorter College men's and women's tennis teams both received a top 15 ranking. The men were placed at 13th and the women at 14th.

"I'm looking forward to great things from both teams this year," said head men's and women's coach Orville Adams. "The preseason ranking doesn't mean anything, though. We just have to go out there and make sure we give our all each match."

Both teams have played one match this season, with the men handing Gadsden State a 9-0 defeat, and the women falling 6-3 to the number-four ranked NCAA Division III Emory University.

The women continue play this Saturday against Columbia College, and the men take the court next Saturday against Emory University.
