Men's tennis receive at-large bid to NAIA Nationals



The championship will be played at the Mobile Tennis Center, May 12-16 in Mobile, Ala.

Kansas City, Mo - In the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' (NAIA) list of qualifiers for the 2008 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship, the Shorter College Hawks have received an at-large bid.

The Hawks (15-6) had a strong showing in the Region XIII tournament earning Region XIII runner-up, by beating the University of Mobile in the first round, and cross-town rival Berry College in the second round. Shorter is ranked No. 14 in the last NAIA National poll.

The championship will be played at the Mobile Tennis Center, May 12-16 in Mobile, Ala. In all, 24 teams will converge on Mobile to play for the championship, as 14 of the 24 squads received automatic bids and 10 more made the tournament as at-large selections.

The official tournament bracket along with match times will be released May 7 by 5 p.m. (Central).
