Bloomington, Ind. - The Shorter men's track team rewrote the records this weekend at the Gladstein Invitational, hosted by Indiana University. A total of three records were broken, and eight men qualified for the national championship in March.

Peter Limo was the first record breaker of the meet. His mile time of 4:27.48 was good enough for 4th overall.

Sprinters Montez Valentine and Nick Dodson both broke the 400m record, as well as both qualifying for the national championship. Valentine not only broke the 400m record, but added his name to the 200m records as well. His time of 22.40 gave him another national qualifying event.

Martin Hernandez didn't break a school record in the 5000m run, but his 3rd place time of 15:20.54 qualified him for the national championship.

Remy Charpentier placed 3rd in the 600m dash, with another qualifying time of 1:21.99. His teammates, Lois Godelar and Logan Cornutt, both secured qualifying time in the 800m with times of 1:55.24 and 1:57.00, respectively. The three then joined together with Andrew Rodriguez to place 3rd in the 4x800m relay, and in the process qualified another relay for the national championship with a time of 7:55.47.

With two meets under their belt, the team now prepares for the Niswonger Invitational next weekend - held at the site of the Indoor National Championships, on the campus of East Tennessee State University.
