Jacksonville, Ala. - At the Gem of the Hills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State University, the Shorter College men's track and field team took second place out of 14 teams, with Shawn Kennedy adding to the Hawks' list of athletes qualifying for the NAIA National Championship in May. Kennedy took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.81, the qualifying time, and first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.05. Montagious Brown easily won the high jump title with a 2.05 meter jump and Joseph Chisholm rounded out Shorter's winners by taking the shot put with 13.30 meters. Alabama State University took first place in the meet with 129 points, besting Shorter's 112. They were followed by Samford University, University of Alabama-Huntsville and Clark-Atlanta University rounding out the top five. For complete men's results, click here.
