Godsave qualifies for Nationals at Georgia Inviational

Athens, Ga. - With the NAIA Outdoor National Championships less than two weeks away, the Hawks set personal records, school records and qualified individuals for nationals at the Georgia Inviational this weekend, hosted by the University of Georgia.

Jerad Godsave took fifth in the 1,500 meters but his time of three minutes, 57.57 seconds got him in under the mark to compete in the event at nationals.

Shorter's Marc Burgess won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:44.06. Teammate Ben Anthony was fourth (10:37.44).

Nate Scott and Remy Charpentier posted second-place finishes in their events. Scott ran the 110 hurdles in 14.63 while Charpentier was the runner-up in the 800 with a time of 1:51:56. Derricus Johnson followed Charpentier in seventh, coming in at 1:52.79, while Lois Godelar was eighth at 1:53.23.

Curtis John came in fifth in the discus with a throw of 44.24 meters and just missed qualifying for nationals.

In the men's 100, Shaun Kennedy finished second with a time of 10.56.

The NAIA Outdoor National Championships are May 22-24 at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill.
