Men's cross country places second in Lucian Rosa Invitational 5K

Kenosha, Wis. - A long way from home this weekend, the Shorter College Hawks men's cross country team took second out of five teams competing in the Lucian Rosa Invitational 5K. Martin Hernandez led the Hawks, finishing third with a time of 15:38.

Peter Limo was second for the Hawks in seventh (16:03), followed by Cyrus Wakaba in ninth (16:12), Josh Carson in 10th (16:15), and Steven Rich rounding out the scoring in 16th (16:24).

The course and event is held at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, also the site of the NAIA National Championship in November of this year.

Lindenwood University took first place with 40 points, compared to Shorter's 45.

After a week off next weekend, Shorter will run in the Southeast Classic held at Berry College on Oct. 25, before hosting the SSAC Tournament on Nov. 8.
