Nashville, Tenn. - Both Shorter's men's and women's cross country teams competed Saturday at the Southeast Classic in Nashville, Tenn. In the men's race, Shorter came in fifth in the 22-team field while ahead of cross town rival, Berry, in sixth. Shorter was paced by Martin Henandez, who came in 15th overall with a time of 26:40 in the eight-kilometer run. Jerad Godsave (20th, 27:01) came in next for the Hawks followed by Josh Carson (31st, 27:47), Steven Rich (35th, 28:01) and Cyrus Wakaba (54th, 28:42) to round out Shorter's top five. The Shorter women's team performed well to earn a 10th-place finish. Lady Hawk Magrina Chepkoech finished before any Berry, as she came in 16th overall with a time of 19:32. Julie Frayre (39th, 20:46) came in second for the Shorter squad followed by Amy Worthy (42nd, 20:53), Kaitlin Shaw (46th, 21:00) and Courtney Pike (92nd, 22:38). |
