![]() Shorter XC sweeps SSAC Meet Nashville, Tenn. - The Shorter College men and women's cross country teams advanced the NAIA National Meet by taking first place at the Southern States Athletic Conference Cross Country Meets in Nashville, Tenn. The Hawks claimed their third straight SSAC crown while the Shorter women bested the field for a thrilling victory, avenging a close loss to Berry College in 2008. MORE [+] ![]() Men's harriers upend top teams en route to second place at Southeastern Classic Louisville, Ky. - Shorter College had three runners place in the top-14 en route to a second place team finish in the 2009 Southeastern Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The Hawks, who were receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Cross Country Top-25 Poll, bested third-ranked Embry-Riddle University and No. 11 McKendree College in the process. Freshman Eliud Ng'etich paced the Hawks with a time of 25:57.21 in the 8k event, good enough for eighth place overall. Sophomore Peter Limo (26:00.52) and senior Jerad Godsave (26:06.44) placed 11th and 14th, respectively. MORE [+] ![]() Men's cross country secures third place finish at Berry Invitational Mt. Berry, Ga. - Freshmen Doug Kalmbach and Eliud Ng'etich placed sixth and 11th overall, respectively, to help Shorter College to a third place finish at the Berry College Cross Country Invitational, an 8k event on Saturday morning in Mount Berry, Ga. Kalmbach (26:17.18) and Ng'etich (26:50.11) highlighted a solid performance by the Hawks, who posted 89 points behind four top-25 performances.
