 Burgess named NAIA Scholar-Athlete Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced 298 men's and women's cross country runners have been named 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes. Among these, Marc Burgess from Shorter has received this honor for the second year in a row. Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify. MORE [+]  Hernandez leads cross country to 24th place at Nationals Kenosha, Wis. - In their first trip to Nationals in the short two year history of the program, the Shorter College Hawks cross country team finished in 24th place, with 583 points. Berry, Ga. - After only its second year of reformation, the Shorter College men's cross country team will be heading to Kenosha, Wis. for Nationals after taking first place in the Region Championship at Berry College on Saturday morning.
