Coach Vanita Riddle enters her third year as assistant head coach. She brings a great deal of experience to the team this year as she began the 05-06 season just a few months after completing her playing career for the Lady Hawks.

During her tenure at Shorter, Coach "V" lettered in three sports: basketball, volleyball and softball. She led the basketball team in three point shooting during her junior and senior years hitting 94 threes. At the end of her career, she was selected by the Northwest Georgia Tip-off Club as the team's MVP and by her teammates to receive the coveted Lady Hawk Award. Coach "V" spent her first two years of college at Gadsden State Community College where she also lettered in basketball, volleyball and softball for the Lady Cardinals. Her duties as assistant coach include coordination of all recruiting and scouting, as well as practice and game strategy preparation. She is a graduate of Albertville High School in Albertville, Ala.
