 Weatherby, Lady Hawks cruise past Milligan Rome, Ga. - Shorter College senior guard Tamara Weatherby led all scorers with 17 points and the Lady Hawks held Milligan College to 20.8 percent shooting as Shorter scored an impressive 74-40 victory over the Lady Buffs on the final day of the Shorter Tip-Off Classic at the Winthrop King Centre. Weatherby scored 13 of her points in the second half as Shorter combined offensive balance with another swarming defensive effort and improved to 2-0 on the young season. Milligan All-American center Heather Mandela scored just four points - 20 points under her season average - and made only one field goal. Weatherby connected on 10 of 12 from the stripe and also pulled down four rebounds as Shorter smothered the Lady Eagles defensively, holding Reinhardt to 20 percent shooting on the night.
