Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College Lady Hawks basketball team is proud to announce its most recent signing for the 2008-09 season: Brittney Smith, a 5'10" post player from Austin High School in Decatur, Ala.

Smith averaged 11 points and eight rebounds last season and produced nine double-doubles for the Black Bears that went 23-8 in 2007-08. She was her team's most valuable player and was named to the Decatur Daily All-Area team.

The Lady Hawks had an impressive 20 wins in 2007-08 and advanced to the SSAC Tournament, breaking into the NAIA Top 25 mid-season.
