Newnan, Ga. - Rachel Skinner of Newnan High School in Newnan, Ga., has signed a national letter of intent to play for Shorter College's first-ever women's lacrosse team next spring.

Skinner, who signed on with the Lady Hawks and head coach Brittni Dulaney over the weekend, will lead her Lady Cougars' squad into the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class AAAAA Girls' Lacrosse Championships beginning today.

Skinner has been a key player for the Lady Cougars in 2010, scoring 24 goals, dishing out 12 assists, and scooping up 30 ground balls for Newnan high in senior season.

The Lady Cougars enter the state playoffs with a 13-3-2 record and take on South Forsyth (7-8) in tonight's first round state tournament matchup beginning at 7:30 p.m.
