Rome, Ga. - Shorter split a pair of home matches at Grizzard Park, with the Lady Hawks beating Columbia 2-1 and the Hawks falling to Southern Poly 2-1. In the women's match, Pauline Van Der Henst scored first for Shorter (5-5, 4-3), but Columbia tied it midway through the game. The Lady Hawks pulled out the victory when Tamar Watson scored with 10 seconds left off an assist from Bonnie McNulty. In the men's match, the Hawks got their lone goal from Robert Whitnell. Shorter falls to 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the SSAC with the loss. |
