Panama City, Fla. - Libby Munson and Dandi Ammons were named to the Lead-Off Classic All-Tournament team at the conclusion of Sunday's competitions, as the Shorter College Lady Hawks softball team went 3-3, bringing their overall record to 7-5, as they head into their first home game of the season this week. After splitting competition on Friday, the Lady Hawks followed suit on Saturday and Sunday, going 1-1 each day. On Saturday, Shorter beat 20th-ranked Biola 2-1, following a 7-0 loss to 9th-ranked Olivet Nazarene. Shorter then started the day out on Sunday with a big 13-4 win over receiving-votes Walsh University, which included a three-inning no-hit performance from Munson. In their last game of the tournament, the Lady Hawks fell to the number-six team in the nation, the University of Mobile, 4-2. The Lady Hawks return home to the Alto Park Softball Complex on Wednesday for their first conference game of the season, beginning at 4 p.m., as they take on the visiting Southern Wesleyan Lady Warriors. |
