Orange Beach, Ala. - In the Region XIII Softball Championship, the Shorter College Lady Hawks fail to the University of Mobile Lady Rams, 3-1, to be named the Region Runner-ups.

Shorter fell behind in the second inning as Mobile scored to make the game 1-0, and the Lady Rams increased their lead on a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

The Lady Hawks managed one run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Libby Munson reached on a fielder's choice, advanced on a Kerry Hammond single, and scored on a Jessica Sanders RBI single, to make it a 3-1 ballgame. That's as close as Shorter would get.
