Mobile, Ala. - Behind several efficient performances in both singles and doubles, No. 11-ranked Shorter College breezed to a 9-0 victory over Bethel College (Kan.) in the first round of the 2010 Women's Tennis National Championship at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. Mobile, Ala. - There was a time, not too long ago, when Shorter College was a fixture at the NAIA Tennis National Championship in a two-fold manner. Throughout the 1990s and into the mid 2000s, the men's and women's teams at Shorter shared the national tournament spotlight, lending testimony to a solid tradition of success for each program. On May 18, the Hawks and Lady Hawks end a two-year drought of competing together at the national championships when they hit the courts at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., hoping to emerge with each program's first national title.
