Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College volleyball team had to go five sets on Tuesday night, but the effort was well worth it, as the Lady Hawks picked up a win over visiting Reinhardt College. Shorter (6-8) dropped the first set 33-31 before winning the second, 32-30. The Lady Hawks fell behind with a 30-26 third-set loss before taking the final two sets 30-20 and 15-9. Middle blocker Kasi Runion led the team with 20 kills, while Kate Puckett and Jenny Mealer each added 16. Kristy Walker had 66 assists in the match, while Kayla Rollins contributed 24 digs. Shorter is back in action this weekend with two home matches. The Lady Hawks host Columbia at 7 p.m. on Friday before hosting Faulkner at 11 a.m. on Saturday. |
