![]() Runion honored as NAIA All-American Sioux City, Iowa - Shorter College senior middle blocker Kasi Runion has been named to the 2009 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America Team as announced by the NAIA early Sunday morning. The Ringgold, Ga., native, who became Shorter's first-ever American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region honoree just last week, earned a spot on the honorable mention All-America squad after helping lead the Lady Hawks to a school record 27 wins this season. Senior Cara Colvard and juniors Maggie Parker and Ashlie Stewartson were Shorter's recipients of the annual honor, and allowed Shorter to tie Lee University for the most representatives from an individual school among all Southern States Athletic Conference member institutions. MORE [+] ![]() Kasi Runion named to AVCA All-Region Team Lexington, Ky. - Shorter College senior Kasi Runion has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region Team as announced by the organization late last week. Runion joins Lee University's Milica Krsmanovic and Kayla Carlisle as the only Southern States Athletic Conference representatives on the 14-member squad. After becoming the school's first-ever honorable mention All-Region honoree last year, Runion now becomes the first Lady Hawk to be named to the AVCA All-Region Team. The 6-foot middle blocker from Ringgold, Ga., departs the Lady Hawk volleyball program as its all-time leader in kills, having amassed 1,416 in her four years on the Hill.
