Volleyball locks up No. 2 seed with 3-1 win at Brenau
Gainesville, Ga. - The Shorter College volleyball team secured a No. 2 seed in the upcoming Southern States Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament with a 3-1 win over host Brenau University on Saturday afternoon. The win handed Shorter its school-record 25th win of the season and also eased the sting of a tough, 3-2 loss at the hands of the Golden Tigers earlier in the year at the Winthrop-King Centre. Shorter senior Kasi Runion did not play in that first meeting, but made her presence felt on Saturday with 13 kills and seven blocks to pace the Lady Hawks (25-8, 9-3 SSAC). MORE [+]

Volleyball earns straight set victory over Southern Wesleyan
Central, S.C. - Shorter College had four players record 10 kills as the Lady Hawks topped host Southern Wesleyan University in straight sets in Southern States Athletic Conference volleyball action on Friday night. Kasi Runion, Maggie Parker, Ashley Walton and Loren Olive each posted 10 kills and Jordan Corder registered a match-high 40 assists in addition to 15 digs and five kills as the Lady Hawks improved to 24-8 overall and 8-3 in the SSAC while completing the season sweep of the Warriors (7-21, 3-8 SSAC). Well-rested Lady Hawks prepare for end of season run
Rome, Ga. - When it comes to getting ready for the postseason, coaches always want their teams to be at their best in order to go as far as they can. Building momentum, having a full head of steam, peaking at the right time - the clichés are plentiful when talking about what is needed to be successful beyond the regular season, each involving the traditional method of maintaining a daily routine.
