Kenosha, Wis. - Justyna Mudy made her name known this weekend in the UW-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational, by taking home her third straight individual title, this time with a time of 17:26 in the 5K. The Shorter Lady Hawks finished in 17th as a team out of the 31 competing. Mudy was followed by Kaitlin Shaw (98th - 20:33), Brooke Dearing (123rd - 20:49), Sarah Massey (130th - 20:57), and Julie Murphy (191st - 21:48). The course and event is held at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, also the site of the NAIA National Championship in November of this year. Ferris State University took first place with 98 points, compared to Shorter's 459. After a week off next weekend, Shorter will run in the Southeast Classic held at Berry College on Oct. 25, before hosting the SSAC Tournament on Nov. 8. |
